Switching Up Date Night

Lets face it, your typical dinner date or movie night can get a little boring sometimes right? Don't get me wrong, I love going out to dinner and having chill nights in, but recently I have been all about day dates.

Picnics, beaches, parks, wine tastings, and lunch spots with good drinks are right up my alley.

With my boyfriend living in Sonoma County, there are plenty of things to do and after being together for 6 years, we try to make sure our dates are different from the last.

In February,  Zac and I decided to make a day out of Tomales Bay and Point Reyes and this was by far my favorite day with him in awhile.

Here’s a rundown of our day:

It started around 10 am and we drove over to Tomales Bay where we had reservations at Hog Island Oyster. I’ve been to the location in SF but it was my first time at this one and I had been DYING to go. Side note: even the drive had the prettiest views the entire way.

When we arrived, I was in awe. We walked up to the cutest outdoor patio with beautiful views of Tomales Bay and I couldn't wait to eat some oysters and sip a drink in the sun. We started with drinks and since it was only 11 am we decided on only oysters, since we had more of our day planned after. We ordered a dozen of their Daily Raw Oysters and an order of the BBQ Oysters. They were seriously the best oysters ever (IMO).

After Hog Island we went over to Point Reyes to check out the little town. We came across Cowgirl Creamery, which is also in the Ferry Building in SF and they have the BEST cheese. We found ourselves doing a cheese tasting and they helped us find the creamiest goat cheese I’ve ever had. We also bought some prosciutto, crackers, and honey to go with our Veuve Clicquot we brought.

We headed over to Dillon Beach, laid out our blanket, and spent the rest of the day eating our cheese and drinking our champagne.

If I had it my way, every date would be this way!
